I see adults and couples from the Bay Area in my private practice in Redwood City.

I work with issues related to depression, anxiety, spirituality, sexuality, childhood trauma, stress, and social anxiety and shyness.

In addition to my private practice, I also worked as an Associate Professor for 10 years at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, holding several positions, including Director of Creative Expression, Assistant Dean, Director of Clinical Training, and Chair of the Psy.D. program in Clinical Psychology.

I taught courses in creative expression, clinical skills, and practicum training. I served on the California Psychology Internship Council for four years, a board that sets standards and procedures for doctoral clinical training in the state of California.

For a number of years, I worked with the Shyness Clinic in Palo Alto and led 6-month cognitive-behavioral therapy groups for overcoming social anxiety and shyness. Trained as a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) instructor, I have studied and practiced in depth several spiritual disciplines, including Zen, Vipassana, and Authentic Movement.

My doctoral focus on creative expression and later teaching of it included visual and movement modalities. Work in trauma is primarily focused on helping others to find their way to recover from childhood traumas. I am also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment for acute and complex trauma.

When someone deeply listens to you,
Your bare feet are on the earth
And a beloved land that seemed distant
Is now at home within you.
